Democrats target postmaster general after report he reimbursed employees for political contributions

Democratic officials are calling for an investigation of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy following a Washington Post report that claims when he was still at his former company New Breed Logistics, DeJoy pushed employees to donate to Republicans then reimbursed them through bonuses that were higher than usual.

Gov. Gavin Newsom declares state of emergency

The Gov. of California declared a statewide emergency as wildfires continue to burn severely in several counties. “We had to splash water on our hair because our hair was catching on fire,” one evacuee said of the harrowing escape from the Creek Fire. The governor declared emergencies in Fresno, Madera and Mariposa counties where the Creek Fire is burning. There is also an emergency in other counties such as San Bernardino and San Diego, where El Dorado and Valley Fire are respectively raging, according to a statement from the state’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), on Sunday night.
