Earth Day to feature local songwriter, Jonathan Sprout at Point Breeze

The Discovery Center at Point Breeze in Bordentown, invites the public to celebrate Earth Day at a special Environmental Heroes outdoor concert with local songwriter, Jonathan Sprout on Saturday, April 18, from 1 to 2 p.m.

Welcome the warmer weather and start of a new season with music and fresh air at this family-friendly event. Bring a lawn chair, or blanket to relax and to celebrate the land and beauty of nature. 

Enjoy light refreshments, compliments of D&R Greenway Land Trust. 

Sprout is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and performer from Pennsylvania with a dozen albums. He has played at many schools and community events where he inspires a love of nature and conservation. 

Sprout’s original songs about Environmental Heroes include Johnny Appleseed, Rachel Carson and John Muir. Since his first professional appearance in 1972, Sprout has recorded 12 albums, performed 6,618 concerts (including 5,588 children’s concerts) and taught 821 songwriting workshops throughout the United States.

His songs have appeared on several internationally released compilation albums. Sprout’s four American Heroes albums have won 26 national awards and critical acclaim as groundbreaking CDs in the field of educational children’s music. 

In the event of rain, the concert will take place indoors at the Discovery Center. Guests are welcome to tour the Discovery Center after the concert to explore new additions to the Collection.
